But most of the time, online marketers measure the success of their websites by the traffic they get straight away to their site. Online business owners think that this traffic is enough for them to succeed, but I’m going to tell you now… It’s not!

Getting traffic to your website is a hard slog that will need to be worked on. In case you didnt realize, this article that I am writing is all part of my traffic process, and i undersatnd that this traffic process is not going to happen straight away, but I have to follow a few certain things, or laws that will help my presence on the internet be cemented.

Below is my list of things that I do to create a Ciaran Doyle brand on the internet:

1. I write articles
2. I create videos from those articles
3. I create podcasts from these videos
4. I send people to my site through links in these things and get them to sign up for one of my free offers
5. I write blogs & blog comments
6. I write on forums and help people

The thing with the methods above is that they are free, and free targeted traffic really takes a longer time to build, but the hard effort to do this is really worth it plus it has a snowball effect. This article will take a week or so to post on the likes of Ezine Articles.com, then it will be viewed as a new entry by those who are looking for your keyword or phrase you’ve been optimizing. If the targeted visitors like your writing, they will readily click your link to see what you have to offer.

And this also goes the same if you are blogging as it takes time to develop the subscriber base or to grow your social network.

It may take time to do these things, but the targeted traffic that comes from them can be the making or breaking of your business. Always remember that every piece of artcile, blog post, video, forum post etc is another link, another bit of SEO that is going to help you and your business.

You guys can see that I have my wordpress blog set up and I also have  a free CD on traffic generation that I put together, but what I havent mentioned before is that I am actually interviewing alot of internet marketers and it has been going absolutely brilliant.

Today I just confirmed a new interview with a guy called Dean Hunt (He is the guy Mark Joyner is paying $1m to wear a t-shirt for life), his website is http://www.DeanHunt.com and he is a master at what is called Buzz marketing.

Bu Dean couldnt do a skype interview as his computer is messed up, so i have been trying to set up an account at http://www.nocostconference.com/ which is an absolutely free conference call service (you only pay 5p per min per call).

Once you have the interview done it’s so simple to actually go onto elance or rent a coder and actually hire a person to transcribe the interview. Hey presto, you then have something which you can put onto podcasting websites and also content that you could make into a free report or articles or even a paid report. It’s up to you. I will tell you how the interview with Dean goes and tell you my experiences with www.nocostconference.com also.

But anyway enough about that for the minute. I’m having real problems at the moment. My blog looks like a bomb has actually hit it. Do you guys know of any theme that would actually suit my blog. I’m looking for something clean and crisp that is easy to manage and has a lot of cool widget functionality. Just reply to this post and let me know, i would love to hear what you guys think.

And if there is nobody actually visiting my blog i should really find out. so what i’m going to do is actually set up my blog with a thing called Google Analytics, this will enable me to see if people are actually coming to my blog at all. Why didnt i think of this sooner… eeek!

This is really very simple. I was just completely fed up of not doing anything while people I knew and hung around with were actually making an absolutely brilliant living out of the internet.

So what did I start to do?

Have you guys ever heard of the daily magic by Anthony Robbins. It’s called your hour of power or your 15 minutes to fulfillment that you do every day (preferably in the morning). This is the real thing that got me off my ass and really making a go of it, and boy! since i started doing this how my life has changed and the amazing people that I have met and interviewed has been mind blowing.

This daily magic has completely changed the way in which I have started to look at the internet and money making as a whole.You only get what you put in, so if you put in negative thoughts you are only going to get a negative reaction. So, as you can probably tell, I have been doing this daily magic religiously every morning and it has made some immense changes in my mental state.

So who have I met along the way?

Well one person who I have really hit it off with recently is Reed Floren. This guy is an absolute legend! I contacted Reed about an interview with him, we set one up and then…. it didn’t happen!

What? Yep that’s right, but do you think that would stop me? Not a chance, before the daily magic then YES, absolutely, but now… NOT A CHANCE! Just like many before me who have started to make things happen, I found out that he was going to a seminar, and I tracked him to there, and what can i say… the rest is history!

So who is Reed Floren?

He is 22 year old semi-retired marketer who spends most of his time with his family and friends, since his business is automated. He is also known as the Joint Venture Broker and he is one of the most successful Joint Venture Brokers in the whole business. This guy knows his stuff!

But why am I writing this blog? As i am sure you can see I have made some posts before but never really understood what to do or why I need one.

I am currently in the process of creating an online business and I feel that i need a blog to help me with this.

Now I cant take the cudos for this idea. I have never met the guy, but his name is Dean Holland, his blog address is http://www.deanholland.com. His blog has led me to start on my blogging journey. So a major thanks to you Dean!

And with that out of the way, let me tell you about me and what I have been up to so far on the internet.
So, me, what can I say, I have had nearly every job in the sales world and was never really able to keep them. I lost one after another and really didnt know why! So I decided after meeting a guy called Mark Anastasi that I would try my luck at the internet as he had assured me that it was an easy way to make money.

For a few years I have been bumming around trying to make money and I haven’t made a dime, I’ve actually lost a s%*t lot!

I reckon I’m in dept quite a few pounds shall I say.

But something happened a little while ago… I got straight about what I wanted to achieve, I wrote down what it was, I made a bloody decision about what topic I was going to focus on… and guess what, it felt good!

Now, with this new found determination and action in my mind I am going to make this the best year I have ever had.

I have for a long time gone to every seminar under the sun, read so many books and I never did anything. But thats all about to change.

I have already started on my journey and like Dean before, I am going to document how I am actually going to do this.

So I just have to say my big thank you to my friend Mark Anastasi who has been behind me for a long time, trying to kick my ass into gear. Big up my man, I really mean it.

If you’re not aware, this is the same principle that runs long the fact that some companies run a charity drive and some TV stations go out of their way and bring on public service ads and put up foundations to help out. Besides the social community awareness and corporate social responsibility projects, these will also reflect a good image for the company as a society-oriented institution.

Those extra services that are offered by companies both online and off go a long way. They may not directly lead to purchases or conversion rates for sites, but they help in building a good image for the company as well as an age-old feeling that you’re taking care of as a customer.

When you engage in social media, you don’t directly see trackable results like conversion and click throughs, but like the way it is in branding, through excellent customer service all the income generation results will follow afterwards. You will not be able to generate data that can be attributed to social media initiatives, and the effects may take a long time to show, but branding through social media marketing results to a more lasting and more productive impact for the company’s image.

Its effects are more like the TV charms during its early heydays, but social media will not tell customers to “come buy from us.” It simply cajoles customers to join them and have fun, not really pushing them to do anything until they consciously get thrown into its folds.

Social media is even better than customer service since customer service needs people to become their customers for them to implement their strategies. In social media marketing, you don’t have to focus on a particular customer. What you need to do is always focus on how you can make your company look better to others, not merely for a particular market segment.

Joining in social media sites is a reliable way of gaining trust from a solid client base.
