Google Real Time Search, Is This The Future?

Google Real Time Search
Google Real Time Search is something that has been floated about for quite awhile in search engine land, and I have seen many of the more powerful social networks starting to appear all over the search engine rankings, but now it seems like Google is taking Real Time Search one step further with Google Real Time Search.
Do you think that this is the way of the future or maybe just some fad that Google is going through? Let me know in the comments below.

Wow, does Google know your shoe size as well? This is both awesome and frightening. makes sat nav and Blackberry look dated. Everything HAS to go faster at a time when 1 in 5 people is suffering from depression, do we really need this service?

Very interesting video and with everybody accessing the web through hand held devices, this will give up to date real time info to your hand, whenever and wherever you are in the world!! Lots of opportunities to be in contact with your list, as many times a day as you want!!

Hi Ciaran,
Very interesting. This combined with Twitter and other such systems could really get your offer noticed. Particularly when launching a product and wanting to get the buzz going.
Do you know if it will only be on certain keyword phrases like with local search or is it universal?
Regards

Hi Matt,
Yep, those are exactly my thoughts also, on one hand I think it could be a passing phase that Google are going through but on the other hand with the rise of social searching through social media for answers it might spell a whole lot of trouble for traditonal search engine optimizers.
Google in itself is ever changing, just look at the recent rise of local search results and the impact that is having for small local businesses, they are trying to put their hands in all the pies, will it work? this we can only wait and see, but while it is happening, we may as well investigate and leverage it to us for the time being.
Cheers

Barry,
Thats the idea I think, hand held devices are becoming such common that it is no wonder that something like this might happen. All you need to be in contact with you list these days is your iphone, android or teh many other devices on the market today.
What are your feelings on list contact, how many times a day do you think is too much?

Jonathan,
I think this could be awesome for launches, imagine having 6 – 8 twitter accounts, the damage at lauch time, especially if you outsourced the work to some people could be kick ass!
In terms of keyword searches, at the moment i think it is regional, all across the english speaking world.
Cheers

Hey Guys,
Just a little bit more research into it and it seems like it really wont have detremintal effects on the trad SEO experts and positions that much.
The real time results will be shown and it might push down some non real time, maybe ending up in about position 3-4 on the front page for that particluar search.
But there are still 10 non real time search results on the page.
Hope this helps, more to come
