    Hi Ciaran.
You make a very good point. Perfection will not happen. It pays to practice to be good and strive for excellence and learn from experience as well.
I look forward to your next video!

Great post Ciaran! Lol most of my life I have spent ripping out and screwing up pages out of exercise books etc trying to strive for perfection!

I know go for effectiveness over efficiency. Do want makes a profit.

    Take it easy dude..

    Hi Ciaran
I completely agree as I have strived for perfection and it just wastes a lot of time. I also agree with Roland about practice and put together a jingle or chant or whatever you like to call it for my drumming students that applies universally it goes like this…

    Practice in the morning
    Practice at night
    Practice in the evening
    Until you get it right.

Now the point that you and I are both making is put into practice what you are learning and put it to use NOW!
With practice you will improve and so will everyone else.
e.g. The sound level was fairly low on your vid but it was load enough to be heard so perfection isn’t all what it is cracked up to be is it? Your message still got across.

    best wishes

    Roland,

Perfection is an absolute nightmare, something that will drag you down and make nothing happen for you,.

Damn right on the striving for excellence, thats achievable, but perfection is something that you will not allow yourself to have,

    Speak soon

    Cheers Vince,

I was once told that when you do a video, if you get it 70% right then you should just leave it. In terms of practice, yep, you only get better with practice and that is what is going to make it easier for you to not strive for perfection.

    Adios

LOL! You hit it on the head Ciaran.

I spent ages last week trying to get the audio right on a video….failed miserably and left it on my hard disk. In the end I just posted a text item to get something out, what a waste of time!

    Martin my man,

Guilty as charged on all accounts, an absolute nightmare, but there is that time when you have to say, enough is enough, i need to get this out and if the quality isnt up to scratch well, thats not my fault :)

    Cheers my man

As our friend over the pond propounds “You don’t have to get it right you just have to get it going”

Many will nit pick once you have done something which in effect gives you free proof readers etc and time is of the esscence it is what our lives are made of.

Feedback is what we want so that we can improve but if we don’t put anything out we can’t get the feedback so here’s to putting it out!!!
    best wishes
