Overcome Fear Of Public Speaking – Ciaran Doyle

Overcome fear of public speaking
It’s a funny old world where in order to overcome fear of public speaking you have to dive in at the deep end and thats exactly what i did. Now i had spoken to some of my friends and fellow internet marketers about their first time speaking in front of a live audience and that really did help me out.
You see when you have a fear of speaking in front of people it can be as debilitating as anything that you can experience in your life. But that said, I wasnt that bad my first time up in front of people, actually i thought that i was pretty good.. lets hope they thought so too
You see I have a little thing that I do to keep on top of my game anytime that I am about to do something that will put me out of my comfort zone, and that really is what overcoming your fear of public speaking really is… its stepping out of your comfort zone.
I listen to a bit of Tony Robbins, in particular I listen to a kick ass piece of bonus material that he has added to his Get The Edge course. The money that i paid for the course is all worth it for just that one piece of awesomeness.
I popped this on my ipod and anytime I feel like I need a boost of goodness I pop in the old TR and get on my way. Tony is such an inspiration to so many people around the world and I rate this guy massively.
So if you are looking for that little pick me up that will have you performing at levels that far exceed your normal motivation levels you want to get this awesome bonus material… DAILY MAGIC!
Do you use any of Tony’s material?
Let me know if you know of any other cool motivational things.

Hi Ciaran,
Alright? I’ve been following you for a while now and love reading what you’re up to, you write wicked posts. Well done on the speaking, is the footage of you live yet, would like to check it out.
Cheers for the Tony Robbins tip, people say he is a proper legend!
I’m only new to this internet marketing thing and it’s nice to see someone like myself doing it for real, I have to say, I follow your blog and it makes me feel like yeah, I can do this as well!
Will send you a link to my site when it’s done, maybe you could check it out?
Good Luck mate

This is such an important post. Great work! It is interesting to note than even top celebrity speakers encounter the same types of anxiety as “regular folks” just like you and me. After all, if you have a top chef, for example, who is completely comfortable in the kitchen, that doesn’t mean they will be calm and confident in front of a large audience.
I suppose that is what makes the best keynote speakers so great in the first place.
Keep up the good work.

Hi Debra,
Public speaking is something which can be worked on, as I know you are well aware. If people do feel this sense of fear it only means that you need to do it even more.
Loving your post

Hi Ciaran
I have been public speaking for over 30 years. I can still remember those first nerve racking talks!
However with training anyone can learn to speak in public and overcome or at least control their nerves. I have been teaching people for a long time to speak in public and I am pleased that I am now able to offer my services to the wider public.
It is great to see someone who was shy and very nervous grow in confidence and deliver a great talk.
Best wishes
Roland
