The Loss Of The Averages

Posted on 14. Oct, 2009 by Ciaran Doyle in Ciaran's Journey

Funny title for something which is not so funny at all. Do you know what I mean by the "Loss of averages", no I didnt mistake it for the Law Of Averages, this is something that is far greater and this actually effects most everybody in the entire world… "hold up Ciaran, you must be talking S%$t".

The thing is I’m not… do you what I’m talking about?

I’m talking about grabbing your mindshare, the mindshare of the population.

Who is a blogger without any people to read their blog? Who is a baker without any people buying their cakes? Who is an internet marketer without any influence over the people he is trying to influence?

The truth is, they are the average Joe; they are the guys and girls of the world who don’t do anything exceptional, anything attention grabbing, anything worthy of grabbing the mind share of the people they are trying to connect with.

The mindshare is that which is your ability to have that audience, create that unique community of people that listen to you and want to talk about what it is you talk about.

You see, it’s the people that step outside the average normal day to day dredge of society and work and make their stand in life that actually become those people that you hold in high regard, that you buy their products, listen to what they say and  just plain and simply are not like.

You see, they are not the average person, they are not the people that are at a loss of averages. They are the elite, the strong, the poeple we strive to be, but guess what, there is nothing special about them, they are just like you and me.

So how do you grab this mindshare?

Well it’s not that hard! It’s about going and deciding what you want in life and making a stand about what it is you want, what you will accept and also what you wont accept. You dont see Tony Robbin accepting anything less than he deserves, what about Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Roger Federer, Tiger Woods?

They wont accept anything less and neither should you. So it is time now, to make that decision, make the concerted effort to be the person that you were born to be, not just the average Joe.

Try it.

Ciaran, you are absolutely right. I’ve struggled with mediocrity for a while in all aspects of my life until I recognized and changed that one belief. It takes only a second to change a moment, change your expectation and you change your now!!

    Alexander,

Great, I’m so glad to hear it. People just except what they have, why not step outside of that, live your dreams, hell even dream your dreams until they become a reality.

Ciaran, now I feel a little bad that I named my computer Jane. You have such a great name…do you think it’s easier to be amazing with “a name to live up to”?

Easy to read blog, does the picture change? Not sure about my dream…trying to wake up and get clear. One thing I like to do is remind myself how many dreams have come true for real–so not to give up on the new ones. Guess a snowball is pretty small until you start rolling it around.

    Hi Cathy,

Thanks for the great posts, in terms of living up to things, I think it something that you have to work at very hard. No body in this world really just makes it without any work on their part (well some, but you get the idea).

The best to do is ask yourself what you love doing, what you want to achieve and then start to plan out how you are going to get there and achieve all you can. When you start on the road to it, it can come very quickly.

My advice, go for it, strike out, dont stop going until you have it. You only have one life, make the most of it.

    Speak soon

    Ciaran
