How to Find The Best Affiliate Products to Promote

Finding the best affiliate products can be daunting, sometimes it’s easy but sometimes it’s a hard nut to crack.

But why does it seems like these top affiliates are always able to find stacks of products to promote,

Well, we’re going to go through all of that here…

Key takeaways:

  • You will discover the two methods we use to find winning affiliate products,
  • Most importantly, you will learn the one thing every good affiliate product must have,
  • And a quick way to know which niche to enter if you don’t have a niche yet.

Let’s dive in.

How to Find Good Affiliate Products to Sell

By now, you should have chosen your niche or main topic, and most importantly you have narrowed it down to your sub-niche and sub-sub-niche.  If you haven’t, then you have to check out these two great posts right now on:

One simple exercise on how to find a niche for affiliate marketing, or you can check out how to find some great affiliate marketing niche ideas here.

And now you have to find the main affiliate product that you can sell and start making commissions.

When choosing an affiliate product, it’s not a question of where to find affiliate products to promote, because it’s easy.

The main thing to consider is, choosing affiliate products that you truly believe in, products that you believe would help your audience reach their goals.

Because when you believe in your product, you can sell it. You would talk about the product in a way that makes the reader believe you and buy.

If you’re a beginner, you have to focus on building your first website and choosing your main product, then you build your second, third and fourth websites… Now you can find multiple best affiliate products to promote.

The bottom Line is to make sure you know about your niche and that you believe in your product. The best way is if you have gone through the journey yourself, it becomes easy for you to connect with your audience. And you already know the right product that they would need.

For example, if you’re a gardener and you have been able to see some success, you can help other gardeners while recommending products for them to buy.

Very simple, right?

Now let’s move on to the number one thing you should look for before choosing any affiliate product as a beginner.

Find Affiliate Products With Good Affiliate Pages

If you want your journey as an affiliate marketer to be a lot smoother, you must look for products that have a good affiliate resource page.

Look, that’s my recommendation.

Although some products are not going to provide you with these resource pages, that doesn’t mean they’re not good products, it’s going to be difficult for you to promote as a beginner.

Because you have to create all of these resources yourself, not only are they a lot of work, you still have to spend a lot of money to test them until you find the right one that converts.

But if you find products with good affiliate resource pages, it’s going to be much easier for you to set up and start making sales.

A Quick Note: For beginners, the best affiliate products always have great evergreen affiliate pages. Meaning that they are not time-bound, and you can promote them with ease.

Good resource pages include:

  • Email swipes
  • Facebook post
  • YouTube ads
  • Keywords
  • Articles
  • Banners
  • Products
  • And many more.

Imagine how long it would take you if you tried to create all of these yourself. You might spend 6 months and you haven’t even launched yet.

Before we go through these 2 simple methods to find the most-selling affiliate products in your niche, let’s look at a quick way you can use today to find a profitable niche if you haven’t found one already.

Best Way to Find Your Perfect Niche (Find out What You Know and Niche it down)

Again, you have to choose a niche that you know well, it can be a niche you’re passionate about or the one you’re hungry to learn more about.

Let’s imagine that you’re a gardener and what you love most is growing the finest giant oranges like the guy in the picture.

Everyone wants to learn your secret. That’s a great market for you.

how to find good affiliate products to sell

Your niche becomes “How to grow oranges”

Next is to narrow it down, for example, “How to grow oranges using fertilizer at home”.

What we just did was niche it down two levels,

Level one- How to grow oranges using fertilizer,

In Level Two, we’re targeting gardeners who want to grow oranges using fertilizer in their homes.

Use These Two Methods to Find The Best Affiliate Products in Your Niche

Next is to find a good gardening fertilizer affiliate program, there are two ways we can do this using Google:

  1.  Search Your Niche Keyword On Google

Simply search on Google to find products available in your niche.

After a bit of Google search, we found a company called Hoss that has multiple products in the gardening niche and also a big enough collection of fertilizers that you can start promoting to your audience who are hungry to grow oranges at home.

Some of their fertilizers are Hoss fertilizer injector, 20 20 20 garden fertilizer, and a lot more as you can see below.

Choosing an affiliate product

To promote these products, you can write a simple post about them on your website and also link to them.

And if you make a sale, you make a commission. The commission here is 10% per cent sale

The average order size is about $101, so you can expect to make $10 per sale.

Now, if you continue to make quite a few of these every day, that soon builds up.

The affiliate network where you can find this program is Shareasale.

What to do When Affiliate Programs Require A Website

The thing about Shareasale and some other affiliate networks, it’s easy to get started but if you’re still a beginner and have not set up your website yet, that could be a problem getting unto this platform.

In a future post, we’re going to go through how you can quickly set up your affiliate website but for now, let’s continue.

What we would recommend you do is find multiple products and programs, so that you can be sure to get accepted for any of the products.

That’s why we went ahead to find this product here called Smiling Gardener.

They have an affiliate program for organic fertilizers and also they offer training for organic gardeners, and you can receive a 50% commission per sale.

So this is a really good opportunity for you as an affiliate marketer to sell both physical and also the best affiliate digital products.

And if you don’t know, a good blend of physical and digital products like offering them as complimentary products sells well.

Here, it could be information on how to use and apply the fertilizer, which makes the products easy to sell.

  1. Using Related Keywords to Find Products in Your Niche

Next is how to find affiliate products that are relevant to your audience using related keywords. And we’re going to use long-tail keywords in this example.

“How to play the guitar with long nails”

It’s a strange keyword…

So how do we find products if we’re targeting this type of niche?

It’s very simple…

We search for our main keyword on Google and open the first, second or third post that’s ranking for our main keyword.

how to find affiliate products on google

Next is to go through these posts, and search for keywords that are associated with our niche.

For example, check out these posts.

where to find affiliate products to promote

Now listen, since people with long nails have to play in open tuning, which means it’s very relevant to our niche, we just have to make a quick Google search to see if we can find products under open tuning.

We’re going to search “Play the guitar in open tuning course”

Now, putting the course in front helps tell Google that we’re not just searching for open tuning but we’re searching for the courses related to it.

top affiliate products for your niche

We’re going to click on the first search result, and as you can see they have got a course for sale on open tuning.

Since we already know that open tuning is for people with long fingernails, the course is going to be very relevant to our audience as well.

And we can sign up via the affiliate program down at the bottom here.

how to locate affiliate pages

So that’s how you can use your long-tail keyword to find affiliate programs. Since there might not be an affiliate program for your exact keyword but there can be a related program that is equally as relevant to your audience and hot that you can pick up and your audience would love you for that just like this example above.

Using Affiliate Networks To Find Product Ideas

In addition to using Google search, there are other effective methods for finding lucrative affiliate products to promote. One popular approach is joining well-established affiliate networks such as CJ Affiliate, ClickBank, and Amazon Associates.

These platforms offer a vast selection of products across various niches, providing easy access to a range of options that cater to your target audience.

Moreover, participating in niche-specific forums, online communities, and social media groups can help you identify trending products and gain insights into the preferences of potential customers.

By connecting with like-minded individuals, you can share experiences, learn from successful affiliates, and discover new opportunities to expand your product portfolio.

Embracing these additional methods will empower you to find the best affiliate products that resonate with your audience and maximize your earning potential.

Understanding How Your Competitors Can Help

Understanding your competitors within the same niche is crucial for affiliate marketing success. To research your competition effectively, start by making a list of top affiliates and websites in your niche.

Analyze their content strategy, promotional methods, and the products they promote. Tools like SEMrush and Ahrefs can help you discover valuable keywords, backlink profiles, and organic traffic data.

By studying these insights, you’ll identify their strengths and weaknesses and uncover untapped opportunities.

Engage with your competitors’ audience by participating in comments, forums, and social media discussions to learn about their preferences and pain points. Implementing this research will enable you to create a unique value proposition, tailor your marketing approach, and ultimately, outperform your competition in promoting affiliate products.

Learn From Examples

Learning from real-life examples or case studies of successful affiliate marketers can be highly motivating and educational too. I am a big fan of Pat Flynn, and Michelle Schroeder-Gardner.

One such example is Pat Flynn from Smart Passive Income, who shares his journey and transparent income reports to inspire others.

Pat started by promoting a niche site about architecture exam preparation and eventually expanded into various niches, such as podcasting and digital marketing.

Another example is Michelle Schroeder-Gardner from Making Sense of Cents, who turned her personal finance blog into a full-time business, earning over $100,000 per month through affiliate marketing.

As for me, I started in the bad credit mobile phone space many years ago and transitioned this simple niche idea into a 6 figure a year business in multiple niches too, mostly in the hosting, insurance and affiliate marketing space.

Studying these success stories will help you understand the strategies, work ethic, and determination required to excel in affiliate marketing, giving you the confidence and knowledge to achieve your goals.

Factors To Consider When Evaluating Affiliate Products

When evaluating affiliate products, it’s crucial to consider several factors to ensure success and a satisfying experience for your readers.

  • First, assess the product’s relevance to your niche and audience; promoting unrelated products may lead to decreased trust and lower conversions.
  • then, investigate the product’s reputation and quality to ensure you’re recommending a valuable solution.
  • next, evaluate the commission structure and payout terms to determine if it’s financially viable.
  • finally, consider the product’s conversion rate and the support provided by the affiliate program, such as marketing materials and tracking tools.

By carefully examining these factors, you’ll be able to choose affiliate products that align with your goals and provide a satisfying experience for your readers, ultimately leading to higher conversions and success in affiliate marketing.

Building Strong Relationships with Product Vendors

Building strong relationships with product vendors is essential for a successful and satisfying affiliate marketing experience.

Start by reaching out to the vendor or affiliate manager, expressing your interest in their product and your intention to promote it.

Maintain open communication and ask for support, such as promotional materials or exclusive discounts for your audience.

Attend industry events and webinars to network with vendors and stay informed about their latest offerings.

Additionally, provide valuable feedback on product performance or customer experiences, showing your genuine interest in the product’s success.

By fostering positive relationships with product vendors, you’ll gain access to exclusive opportunities, valuable insights, and enjoy a more rewarding affiliate marketing journey.
